I will explore what this station has to offer. Does anyone wish to join me?

[Exploring a space station with a Klingon? BEST PORT EVER AMIRITE.]

I'll go!

You have all you need?

I'll meet you there.

I think so. Is there anything special I should need?

I damn well better see you some time during this port.

Water, possibly some sustenance. We should visit one of the technology stalls, so we can find scanning technology which will tell us what would be safe to eat.

Very well!

[K'Nera had not appreciated being left behind but this was hardly going to be an enjoyable place for her to go. As for Chang himself, he was in reconnaissance mode so he was quiet and searching for any threats. He indicated a vending stall.] That might have what we need.

Yeah, okay, [Chuck said, looking around. He was still a bit thunderstruck by the variety of life here - not to mention that getting to run amok on a space station is the dream of any self-respecting nerd.] You know more about this than me, so...lead the way.

Date: 22/6/11 08:39 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] general-chang.livejournal.com
[Chang made his way through the crowd, slowly enough so Chuck could keep up and not run into whatever species that happened in their way. Eventually, he arrived at the stall. As the vendor started chattering, Chang all but ignored him until he pointed at some pieces of technology. The vendor named his price and Chang haggled with him to get it lowered (a matter of security, given the unlimited credit, seeming too rich would invite pickpockets). With a deep grumble, the vendor completed the sale. He turns to Chuck.] Come. [He starts to lead them out.]

Date: 22/6/11 03:30 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] scruffynerdhrdr.livejournal.com
[Chuck watched the entire process with fascination, and wondered just what it was Chang had bought. He had to admit that he wasn't as big on Star Trek stuff as he ought to have been, and there were so many different models of tricorder depending on the time period and producing civilization he wouldn't be able to distinguish one if it hit him in he head.

He nodded and followed Chang out, too giddy and awestruck to really be concerned that he was being led around by his inmate. Why should he? Chang hasn't been a problem.]

[Chang finds a quiet corner where he could spread the technology and see what he's got. Once he has gotten an idea he starts to construct two scanners.]

Date: 24/6/11 04:36 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] scruffynerdhrdr.livejournal.com
[Chuck watches with interest, taking note of how each scanner is being constructed. That engineering degree isn't just a piece of paper, and he's fascinated by the technology before him - never mind the computer in his head.]

Date: 24/6/11 05:54 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] general-chang.livejournal.com
[Chang hands him one.] For you. It will make sure that food you eat will be edible.

Date: 24/6/11 09:52 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] scruffynerdhrdr.livejournal.com
"Thanks!" [Chuck says happily, examining the constructed scanner. The Intersect's got nothing on it, and for that he's kind of grateful. Having knowledge about alien stuff in there would raise a lot of interesting questions, THAT's for sure.]

Date: 25/6/11 09:57 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] general-chang.livejournal.com
[Chang does another diagnostic on his before putting it away.] It is simple to use, but do you need instruction?

Date: 25/6/11 02:43 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] scruffynerdhrdr.livejournal.com
I think I can figure it out, [Chuck says, fiddling with the scanner. He manages to make it work after a bit of messing with it, and grins.] Yeah, I think I've got it. Thanks.

Date: 25/6/11 02:52 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] general-chang.livejournal.com
[Chang nods.] Very well.

Date: 28/6/11 12:35 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] scruffynerdhrdr.livejournal.com
Cool. Thanks.

Uh...you don't have to hang around me or anything. It's a port, go enjoy yourself. [Chuck smiles.]

Date: 28/6/11 01:54 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] general-chang.livejournal.com
Are you certain?

Date: 3/7/11 01:27 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] scruffynerdhrdr.livejournal.com
Well, if you want to stick with me that's cool too, I mean, I figure you're going to enjoy this port 'cause it's a space station and maybe you could find some fresh gagh or something maybe... [Babbling commence.]

Date: 3/7/11 07:34 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] general-chang.livejournal.com
There are no Klingons here, analogious food may be possible, however, this is not relevant.

I have experience of space stations. You do not.

Date: 3/7/11 03:39 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] scruffynerdhrdr.livejournal.com
[Well, Chuck's not about to deny anything that's strictly true. Even if he has seen enough sci-fi stuff to feel like he does have experience of space stations. He's pretty sure he could navigate Deep Space Nine no problem, but this isn't DS9.]

Yeah, you're right. So are you saying you want to make sure I don't, um, get into anything I shouldn't or something?

Date: 3/7/11 04:38 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] general-chang.livejournal.com
[He nods.] There are things that are not covered in works of fiction. [He doesn't know the exact nature of his fourth wall but it's logical to assume that there is one and Chuck is likely working off of fourth wall knowledge whether it's DS9 or Babylon Five.]
[If Chuck had been sipping a drink, he would have executed a textbook spit-take.]

Y-yeah. Good call.
